A Letter to K

My most personal exploration of composition and emotional processing

This work was composed from a foundation of kinetic trauma processing exercises; that of the writing of a letter to a deceased family member, and the creation of an artwork that aided my reflective processing. The video footage of these events were then used as the score to be responded to using the electric bass guitar, LUMI Keys, and found sounds.

This work challenged my own connections to tragedies, coming to terms with my own loss during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it was the most open I have been with my work, with direct links to my own personal process, challenging how I respond to tragedies from this personal connection.
